Meet The Owner

Dr. Lovato is a fellowship trained, board certified Ophthalmologist, currently specializing in laser eye surgery (LASIK) at the Lasik Vision Institute in Albuquerque, NM. His family has provided quality eye care to New Mexicans since 1963, when his father, Alfred A Lovato Sr., opened up an optical lab on Five Points & Bridge in ABQ's South Valley. Dr. Lovato has been in private practice in Albuquerque since 1980 when he opened his own eye care practice, enabling him to provide eyeglass prescriptions, then refer folks over to his father's shop next door. He is a member of many professional medical organizations, including the American Academy of Ophthalmology and served as president of the Hispanic Medical Association of New Mexico.  Dr. Lovato has received numerous awards for outstanding service to the community.  ​

In his free time, Dr. Lovato enjoys spending time with his family and playing tennis and golf.
